2008 Administrative Professional of the Year

Barbara Abrahamsen CPS

The Ak-Sar-Ben Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) named Barbara Abrahamsen CPS, Legal administrative assistant, at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska the Administrative Professional of the Year, Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at their annual breakfast.

The award is given each year to an administrative professional who exemplifies the very best in professional leadership, community involvement and business experience.

“My reaction was tears,” said Abrahamsen “It is such a great organization, I wouldn’t be where I am today without it.”

Abrahamsen said Blue Cross Blue Shield Nebraska has always been supportive of her involvement in IAAP. The continuing education the organization provides allows her to share what she has learned with co-workers and customers.

“I have members, who are also our customers, calling me, asking for help,” said Abrahamsen.  “If I don’t have the answer, I know who they can talk to, that helps our customers, helps our business.”

Along with the award, Abrahamsen received a necklace and earrings from Borsheims.

IAAP is a premier professional organization helping administrative and office professionals enhance their skills and become more effective and efficient contributors to their employers. Take a moment to thank the administrative professionals in your area for their hard work and dedication.
