Selection Criteria/Guidelines
Applications due March 1, 2008

·          Up to $500 will be for scholarship(s) awarded to an individual or individuals pursuing a career as an administrative office professional.  IAAP defines administrative professionals as “individuals who are responsible for administrative tasks and coordination of information in support of an office-related environment and who are dedicated to furthering their personal and professional growth in their chosen profession.”

·          Applicants must:
·
          Plan to pursue a career as an administrative professional;
·
          Must be a high school graduate and plan to continue their education.
·
          Plan to or is attending an accredited Nebraska or Iowa college, university, or business school;
·
          Have a current GPA of 3.0 or above if currently attending school.
·
          Applications must be received by March 1.

·          The recipients(s) of the continuing education scholarship are strongly encouraged to attend at least two meetings of the Ak-Sar-Ben Chapter.

·          Applications remain confidential and will not be published.

·          The Scholarship Committee will review the applications received to determine the applicant’s qualifications.

·          Award winner(s) may reapply for scholarship each year.
